The challenge
Splitting a dinner bill took four apps and one awkward group chat. Tally had a strong receipt-reading model but an interface that felt like accounting software.
What we did
We made the camera the home screen. One photo reads every line, tapping a face assigns it, and the request goes out before the coffee arrives. When the model is unsure, it asks instead of guessing.
